Balance & Fall Prevention

Life doesn’t slow down and neither should you!

A variety of things can cause imbalance and instability, regardless of age.

Muscular or spinal imbalances or weakness, neurological disorders, and inner ear issues are just a few.

Poor balance or gait can lead to feeling unstable on your feet and even falls. Don’t walk around in fear, let me give you a thorough evaluation to get to the heart of the matter and identify where we can make improvements. Your independence and safety are my top priorities.

Have you noticed you don’t feel as confident on your feet?

Let’s work together to help you find balance and strength

It’s not about age

Anyone can find themselves unstable on their feet. Accidents can happen at any age and can lead to injuries. It’s never too early to start working on your balance and strength. We can identify your specific areas of concerns or weakness and tailor a customized plan suited to your unique needs.

What all plays into balance and fall prevention?

Multiple systems within your body need to work in unison for optimal functioning.

Musculoskeletal System

Included in this system are your bones, muscles, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. They provide structure as well as joint stability and flexibility.

Neurological System

Included in this system are the brain, spinal cord, and all the nerves that connect to the rest of your body. Together your Central Nervous System and your Peripheral Nervous System work to control your movements and senses with feedback from your ears, eyes, and skin.

Sensory System

Included in this system are your ears, eyes, and skin responsible for your five basic senses as well as proprioception (body position), the vestibular system (balance and movement), and interoception (internal bodily sensations). This system detects and interprets information from your body and its environment, converting it into neural impulses for your neurological system to further process.
